OK a strange post title but we are doing fine in the money a long way to take it down.

I use a shove/fold chart when getting short then use a "non exploitative" shove where the clever people have done the maths - I will never remember.

Here we are in sb (about 16bb) vs bb (about 4bb stack).

Looked at a 4bb shove 22+ 9x+ 82s+ and worse. Then thought can I shove the same range. We have T8s, my question is this the correct way to use these charts to reverse engineer to a tighter calling range? Well we get called by an Ace, so bad if villain didn't call. And we know we will be called by any Q/J.

Hi ForrestFive!

I use both shove and call charts, so I'm definitely not trying to reverse engineer one.

With this being the final table.. an ICM calculator will be what we need for determining shove/call ranges.

When I put this into ICMIZER, I should be shoving ANY TWO CARDS, even 2 wet bar napkins is a shove!

I then have ICMIZER calculate what the BB should call with and get this range: 33+,A2+,K2s+,K5o+,Q6s+,Q8o+,J8s+,J9o+,T9s

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Forrest,

The shove charts are only looking at chip EV... but especially at a final table, tourney EV needs to be taken into account, as it's more important than just chip EV.

That's why an ICM calculator here is more important.
