This was a tournament I had satelited into so was probably way above my level as it was the Big $8.80 $30k Gtd.

QQ and UTG folds so I raise for 3BB, folds round and BB calls.

BB was a LAG with a VPIP of 44, PFR 9 and AF 4 over 94 hands.

Flop comes 5h, 8c 6h so possibly making the straight and a flush draw. IBB checked so I led out with 1/2 pot bet.

BB raises guessing I should have just folded here but would appreciate advice as I think I made a real mess from here on.

he ended up rivering the straight but should I have still been in the hand at that point??

On the flop, I'm calling the raise and re-evaluating on the turn.

Obviously, if another straight or flush card hits then, I'll fold. If the turn is a blank, I'll check/call a reasonable bet and re-evaluate on the river.

P.S. If you satty into a game that is outside of proper bankroll management, you can unregister and take the T$ and use them for your normal games.

Thanks for that, you certainly make a lot of sense here I got carried away being sure he was trying his normal aggressive play to push me off the pot, as it turns out that was exactly what he was doing but he rivered the card he needed but I had already committed most of my stack at that point.

Yeah that was my plan but the satty finished about 3 mins after the main started so it put me straight in to the main and no chance to unregister.

I did manage to work my way back to a decent stack but went out with AQ and 2 A's on the board versus and AK. Was interesting to see the difference from the lower levels as there seems to be a lot more 3bet/4bets. But didn't appear that there ranges were any tighter than the lower stakes with lots of Ax, kx being played.

Any low/micro game will see this. The key in them, value bet, value bet, value bet... and don't bluff, because the majority of the opps threw the fold button out the window.

You won't find much difference in play between this tourney and anything lower. The same things will happen. If you see different play, it'll just be due to luck of the draw with the particular opps that are seated at your table.
